Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026 · Applies to THE GLOBE, the internal workspace of Re/MAX Infoglobe Paarl & Franschhoek ("The Globe", "we", "us").

1. What The Globe is

The Globe is the central operating system for the Re/MAX Infoglobe Paarl & Franschhoek real estate team. It combines lead and pipeline management, transaction records, training, marketing requests, calendars and communication tools in one place for authorised team members.

2. Google information we access

When an agent chooses to connect their own Google account in Settings → Connections, The Globe requests access to the following Google data, with the agent's explicit consent:

  • Basic profile (name, email address, profile picture) — via the userinfo.email and userinfo.profile scopes — to identify which Google account was connected.
  • Gmail — send mail (gmail.send) — to send emails the agent composes in The Globe from the agent's own Gmail address.
  • Gmail — read-only (gmail.readonly) — to confirm the connected mailbox and verify that a message the agent sent actually landed in their Sent folder, and to triage the agent's own inbox inside The Globe.
  • Google Calendar — events (calendar.events) — to create and update bookings (presentations, valuations, inspections) the agent schedules in The Globe, directly in the agent's own calendar.
  • Google Calendar — read-only (calendar.readonly) — to show the agent's existing calendar events inside The Globe.

The Globe's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Why we access it

Google data is accessed only to provide the features the agent asks for:

  • Sending email to leads and contacts from the agent's own Gmail address.
  • Reading the agent's own mailbox so incoming mail can be organised in The Globe inbox.
  • Booking appointments into the agent's own Google Calendar.
  • Confirming which Google account is connected.

We do not use Google data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train general-purpose AI models.

4. How information is stored and protected

  • Connection credentials are stored encrypted and are only ever used server-side on behalf of the agent who connected the account. They are never visible to other team members.
  • Access to every record in The Globe is controlled by row-level security policies: agents can only see their own data and the leads assigned to them; managers see their own teams.
  • Passwords are hashed and checked against known breach lists. All traffic is served over HTTPS.
  • Access to the workspace requires an approved account with an assigned role.

5. Whether information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information is only processed by the service providers needed to run The Globe (cloud hosting, database, email and calendar providers such as Google, and — only where an agent enables it — AI providers using that agent's own API key) and is visible inside the workspace only to authorised team members according to their role. Google data obtained through Google APIs is never shared with third parties except as required to operate the requested feature.

6. How long information is retained

Account and workspace data is retained for as long as the agent's account is active or as needed for the agency's legitimate business and legal record-keeping. When an agent disconnects a Google account, the stored connection credential is deleted immediately. When an agent leaves the agency, their account is deactivated and their leads are re-allocated; their personal connection credentials and connected-mailbox data are removed.

7. How to disconnect Google and request deletion

  • Disconnect inside The Globe: go to Settings → Connections and click Disconnect next to Google Gmail or Google Calendar. This immediately revokes and deletes the stored connection.
  • Revoke at Google: you can also remove The Globe's access at any time in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps & services.
  • Request deletion: ask your team manager or IT administrator, or email the office, and we will delete your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data: contact the Re/MAX Infoglobe Paarl office or your team manager. You can also reach us through the contact details on our homepage.
